Debra Somberg joined Maveron in February 2000 as a General Partner, bringing her deep understanding of consumer businesses, including the direct marketing and marketing services space. Somberg currently serves on the boards of Allconnect, El Dorado Marketing Group, GameLogic, iFLOOR, KidZui, Knowledge Networks, LiveMocha and OnRequest Images. Previously, she was one of the founding partners of Thomas Weisel Partners LLC where she led the consumer and eCommerce investment banking effort. Prior to her move to Weisel, Somberg was a Senior Managing Director at Montgomery Securities where she ran the retail and direct marketing corporate finance practices. She has also worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. and McKinsey and Company, Inc. During her career, Somberg has completed well over 100 public and private equity and M&A transactions for leading retail, direct marketing, marketing services, and eCommerce companies. Somberg has been actively involved with non-profit organizations throughout her career, including Local Initiative Support Corporation, Planned Parenthood and ACT Theatre, where she is currently a trustee. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, Phi Beta Kappa, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School.
