Clayton Lewis

A competitive Ironman triathlete with a passion for health and wellness, Clayton loves to win and push the boundaries of what’s possible. He joined Maveron in 2008 after a successful stint as CEO of Maveron company Kinetix Living. He brings more than two decades of startup, growth, operating, management and leadership experience in fast-growth companies.

Clayton regularly leverages his extensive operating expertise to help accelerate the performance of Maveron’s high-value portfolio companies. In 2013, he partnered with biotech pioneer Dr. Lee Hood to launch a new industry – scientific wellness. That collaboration resulted in the formation of Maveron portfolio company Arivale, which Clayton leads as CEO.

Early in his career, Clayton served as one of the youngest chiefs of staff on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (NY), Congress’ only microbiologist, who is credited for championing the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA).

Clayton grew up on a ranch near the Grand Tetons of Wyoming, where you made due with the vet when the doctor was out of town. He trains and competes year-round—clearly the mountain air did him good.
