“Jason was one of the first investors to truly understand what we’re building. He has deep experience in consumer brands and has always been a strong supporter of what we’re doing. Through the Maveron network, I’ve made many friends and met critical business leaders who have shaped the future of Everlane.”
As a kid, Jason aspired to be the world’s greatest veterinarian. Now he herds cats of a different sort as a father to three young boys. Jason joined Maveron in 2007 after a pioneering role in online education and has become our resident expert in consumer education, e-commerce and marketplace businesses. Jason has been on both sides of the table, both as a founder and a VC. He likes to dig in and stay involved, and our companies are better for it.
Jason is a diehard U of Michigan football fan and a voracious reader—historical fiction, science fiction, the classics—he’ll read anything but business books. Jason’s love of animals never quite went away; he serves on the board of the Seattle Humane Society.
What’s your go-to app? Twitter, customized to look at the things I love – animals, the environment, VC and tech, current events, Michigan football.
Which consumer brand has greatly impacted your life? Amazon – I’m still amazed I could press a button and have virtually anything at my doorstep in 24 hours.
What was the last gift you gave someone? A trip to Coachella for my wife’s birthday.
What is your favorite occupation? Veterinarian. I deeply admire their ability to handle the inevitable emotion that comes with the job. As a fervent animal lover, I couldn’t handle that.
